Mr. McCloskey's Lost History Videos

Why study U.S. History?

Do you know your own history? Why is that important to you? Because it defines who you are as a person. For me, I always hated history... "Why learn about a bunch of dates and names of people that are dead?" "I can hardly remember my own families birthdays."

Well... If you are forced to memorize dates and names then that will be boring and pointless. How has a date or a name ever taught you something? Leaning the 'Story' about those dates... THAT'S what's important. You live in the greatest nation in all of history. It is your story too.

I'm usually not a fan of rap, but a student sent this to me and it's pretty good. What do you think?
